"Ever since Shelby American introduced the highly sought after, limited edition V6 Terlingua Mustang in 2007, fans of the Terlingua Racing Team® brand and eponymous jackrabbit logo from the Terlingua Ranch in Texas, have wondered when a V8 version would be available.

Today Shelby American is proud to offer a limited run of (50) Shelby Terlingua Racing Team Mustangs built on the 2015-16 Ford Mustang GT, America's best-selling sports car.

The Shelby Terlingua is our most track-inspired Mustang and is built as a tribute to the Terlingua Racing Team and their 1967 Trans Am Championship.

We start with a Whipple supercharger mated to the new 5.0L V8 Mustang GT producing over 750HP and give it an exclusive Shelby by Eibach sway bar and adjustable coil overs. Then we bring in Ford Performance upgrades including half-shafts, a short throw shifter and the aggressive sounding Borla Exhaust with black tips. We also added the Brembo big brake kit for racetrack-proven performance. And with 20" WELD racing wheels, tons of Shelby-designed carbon fiber components and the distinct Terlingua Racing Team badging, this car looks and runs like a Terlingua racecar should.

Ho letto e ho rosicato come un castoro sotto anfetamine per i 50 fortunati raccomandati che riusciranno ad accaparrarsi questa chimera. Per giunta in questo caso i soldi sono ottimamente spesi, anche se parliamo di oltre 100k, che però data la rarità del modello potrebbe arrivare anche a quintuplicare il valore nel giro di breve, praticamente una youngtimer ancor prima di nascere. La Terlingua del 2007 ha raggiunto quotazioni folli, per dire.

Beh è una GT con taaaanti CV in +, un set da 20", qualche upgrade sfiziosissimo e una specie di logo peugeot....

 

Come mai dovrebbe essere così "una chimera" ?

sempre questioni di numeri Pycon .. poi il nome Terlingua/shelby  evoca in tutti i cultori dei ricordi importanti in Trans Am.. Jerry Titus  e la vittoria nel 24h di riverside ma anche il titolo Trans Am assoluto nella classo sopra 2000cc nel 67 ..

Oltre quanto esaustivamente spiegato da Gekko c'è da aggiungere una cosa, ovvero la mia personale adorazione verso la Terlingua del 2007 (la stage 2, quella col volumetrico Paxton), nonostante fosse una V6 l'ho sempre ritenuta un must assoluto, culto totale. Come anche ho sempre considerato dei must le altre Shelby (parlando sempre di moderne) che sono REALMENTE transitate da Las Vegas, tipo Shelby GT/GT-H, CS6/CS8 (la maggior parte), ecc.

 

P.s. Pycon non si tratta solo di meri upgrades, quella "specie di logo Peugeot" credo sia la cosa che più rappresenta Carroll Shelby e la sua "cricca", oltre che un pezzo della cultura motoristica "racing" Americana, forse anche più dello stra-abusato e inflazionato Cobra. E poi una Terlingua ti sfido a realizzarne un clone. My 2 cents.
